When I think of a homestead, I think of lots of acres grated by the government that is actively farmed and is protected by the homestead act. Ours is not that. We have animals. We have goats and pigs and chickens oh my. We eat eggs and make cheese and enjoy goat milk and I am still trying to figure out why we have pigs because they are just not very nice creatures. Well at least ours are pretty rude.
